In the future Scouting will continue to Offer young people responsible fun and adventure; Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law; Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership; Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.

History

Troop 564 was founded by Ernie Tegge on 12/16/1996 the Troop’s First Scoutmaster after 5 years of service, having little or no parental support, decided to move its 5 members and two adults to another local troop leaving the Troop 564 Number and Charter Organization behind with No Scouts or Adults. At that same time in September of 2001, Deltona Lakes Pack 527, Cubmaster and 2nd Year Webelos Leader Dana A. Lehman was looking for a Good Scout Troop to have his Webelos Patrol the Raptors as well as his oldest son to join. In September of 2001, Dana Lehman approached the Deltona Presbyterian Church to see if they were still interested in chartering a Boy Scout Troop since Troop 564 was still owned the Charter Organization the Deltona Presbyterian Church. The Church welcomed Dana Lehman to continue the Troop 564. Dana A. Lehman became the Troop's Second Scoutmaster of Troop 564 and still serves as the current Scoutmaster of Troop 564 (and is him self and 1976 Eagle Scout with 3 palms as a youth earned 69 merit badges). In January of 2002 all 7 boys of the 2nd year Webelos Raptor Patrol crossed over at Deltona Lake Elementary in to Troop 564. They were welcomed By Scoutmaster Dana A. Lehman, and Three Ast. Scoutmasters and the Troop’s 564 first Senior Patrol Leader Ben Tegge who severed in that position for the next year and a half as the troop started to grow. Troop 564 had its First Eagle Scout in Josh Wyland in 2003; Troop has gone out of state for summer camp at Camp Rainey Mountain in Clayton North Georgia as well as white water rafted in the Nantahalia in North Carolina. Every year Troop 564 supports their local council, in attending summer camp at Boy Scout Camp La-No-Che in Paisley Florida. Troop 564 grows every year in Scouts, Scout Leaders and Reputation in serving the youth of Deltona and the surrounding area for over 9 consecutive years. Troop 564 philosophy is “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders with Yesterday's Values.” Was coined by the Troop’s Committee Chairman Diane Lehman.

Future Plans

To grow Troop 564 into Deltona’s Best and recognized Scout Youth Organizations. To make the Troop 564 grow it needs to have a steady growth of scouts. In 2004 Dana Lehman Re-Started Cub Scout Pack 564 at Friendship Elementary in Deltona. Last year Troop 564 crossed over several Webelos from Pack 564 and the same for this year. Keeping the older scouts interested in scouting is one of the troop Goals, by starting a Boy Scout High Adventure Crew. Crews are Boys and Girls 14 years or older to 21. We also are looking at a Starting a Ship which is also co-ed, Boys and Girls at least 14 years of age, also part of Scouting under the Sea Scout Program. By continuing, to offer the youth of Deltona a Quality Scout program under the Family of Scouting. We hope to achieve the following good citizens by “Building Tomorrow’s Leader’s by using Yesterday’s Values”
